KATJA HOLTZ
July 12 - August 9, 2025
Artists’ Reception, Saturday, July 12th 6-8PM
Katja Holtz is a painter whose work bridges place, memory, and emotional landscape. Born in Connecticut, she earned her Fine Arts Degree in 2002 from the University of West of England, Bristol. After living and exhibiting in France, the UK, and Germany (where she also ran a retail design store in Frankfurt), Katja moved to Brooklyn in 2009, where she drew deep inspiration from the city’s overlapping textures and contrasts. She has exhibited her work in various galleries in New York, Canada and Germany. In 2020 she relocated to Atlantic Highlands where her work continues to evolve in response to the light, nautical shapes, colors and the sea - shifting a sense of belonging. Reused and repurposed materials always play a big role in her works. She incorporates things like vintage nautical maps, sails or old canvas bags.
